Iodine

Iodized salt such as Morton Iodized salt, has 3/4 tsp of iodized salt according to it’s label. Iodized salt in the United States contains 45 mcg iodine/g salt (between 1/8 and 1/4 teaspoon); measured salt samples have an average of 47.5-50.7 mcg iodine/g salt. Essentially 1/2 tsp is about 130 mg of iodide. Therefore, 1/2 tsp a day if you don’t use iodized salt should amount to your daily iodine needs.
